As a highly skilled Head Of Art and Design/Secondary teacher of Visual Arts and Design and Technology and the MIC of STEAM I have a demonstrable track record in the production and delivery of a wide range of content-rich and student-centered learning experiences, utilising a diversity of ICT tools. As a result of my extensive experience, I have strong communication, leadership and digital literacy skills and have an ability to quickly establish rapport with colleagues and students at all levels within a school to gain a positive outcome. I offer a wealth of expertise as a teacher and mentor. Through my PhD Research and STEAM leadership, I have implemented a transdisciplinary learning that integrates traditional and digital technologies for students to be prepared for their future beyond a 21st century classroom. As an experienced high school teacher, recent PhD graduate (2025) and practicing Artist, I have immense knowledge and practical skill that I can draw upon to support me in successfully undertaking any position that I gain, and be of benefit to Scots. In addition to my 20+ years of experience as a teacher and researcher, I have had the opportunity to work in the Arts industry and I have showcased my own art in exhibitions around the world. I have been active in developing new initiatives at The Scots College as outlined above and I would seek to work collegially with the Head of Art and Design and staff to review and refine current programs and seek to bring our pedagogies into a collaborative and mutually beneficial paradigm. Including raising the profile our department including an Artist in Residency Program, Art Gallery in the new John Cunningham Student Centre as well as advocate for an inclusion of a Design makers space. These professional experiences have enabled me to extend my knowledge base and skill level, which I am able to utilise in my teaching practice to enhance the learning experience for my students.
