The Kelowna Art Gallery (KAG) is a not-for-profit charitable society, incorporated on March 14, 1977, and recognized as a federal charitable organization by the Canada Revenue Agency under the BC Societies Act. Initially, the Gallery operated within the Kelowna Centennial Museum, where it began showcasing visual art exhibitions and building its Permanent Collection.

My role required working closely with Curator, Christine May, and the Executive Director, Nataley Nagey. As a supportive assistant, my key responsibilities included:

  • Liaising and maintaining positive relationships with exhibiting artists, guest curators, visiting directors, and collectors.
  • Curatorial collaboration with exhibition artists with SketchUp for art installations, fostering innovative creative solutions to gallery size.
  • Assisted in organizing workshops, curator and artist talks, and events, ensuring seamless execution and participant satisfaction.
  • Administration management with the gallery team's daily schedules and exhibition timelines.
  • Documented programming processes and procedures, facilitating knowledge sharing among team members.
