RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leadership of 20 team members working across the across the education, wellbeing and student experience digital ecosystem and responsible for:
• the maintenance and support of approximately 120 in-house developed and SaaS solutions,
• delivery of strategic projects in collaboration with divisional and faculty stakeholders,
• identification and delivery of small to medium sized initiatives to meet niche educational needs across divisions and faculties.
• Relationship management on behalf of IT with key stakeholders across the Division of Education and Student Experience, Lifelong Learning business unit and all 7 Faculties including contributing to the formation and execution of divisional technology roadmaps.
• Identification and mitigation of enterprise risks associated with the education technology ecosystem as well as assurance all applications are compliant with UNSW Cyber Security standards.
• Management of a $6M budget inclusive of enterprise licencing for education systems and associated vendor management.

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS

• Established the Education Solutions team as a trusted strategic technology partner, rebuilding stakeholder confidence through deep engagement and consistent delivery of value-aligned solutions.
• Co-created a university-wide education technology governance framework, fostering strategic alignment, transparency, and cross-functional collaboration across faculties and divisions.
• Led critical initiatives to mitigate cyber security risks and reduce technical debt, streamlining core education systems and simplifying the application landscape for improved operational efficiency.
• Acted as Director of Student, Education and Research Solutions on 6 occasions for a total of 15 weeks, including membership of the IT Executive Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Strategic management of all programs of work and business as usual across the full information management suite of enterprise systems, bespoke applications, integrations, data storage and reporting, business intelligence and records management with a focus on digital transformation.
• Establishment of governance and policy structures including agile, project and change management practices
• Monitoring of organisational risk across systems and data
• Strategic planning within information management and in collaboration with other key business owners including:
• Oversight of information architecture,
• Procurement of new systems,
• Design and build of bespoke applications,
• Value optimisation of existing systems and applications.
• Stakeholder engagement including:
• Regular reporting to the senior leadership team and large organisational groups
• Vendor relationship management
• Liaison with external bodies including Government
• Team leadership including coaching and goal setting

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS

• Led strategic transformation of enterprise-wide information management systems, including governance, risk oversight, procurement, bespoke application development, and optimisation of existing platforms to support digital transformation.
• Built and managed high-performing teams and stakeholder relationships, establishing agile and change management practices, engaging senior leadership and external bodies, and driving cross-functional collaboration for sustained impact.

• Project Management of 4 simultaneous multi-year projects.

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS

• Successfully rescued and delivered an at risk enterprise system replacement project across head office and schools by applying robust change management, stakeholder engagement, and operational impact analysis, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption.
• Led the digitisation of student records across the organisation, enabling secure, immediate access to vital information and significantly reducing reliance on physical storage.

Data analytics and business intelligence reporting across a range of educational data sets. Reporting to senior leadership and schools to inform planning and review.

Leading diocese-wide education initiatives including the implementation of the Australian Curriculum. Support of school based strategic planning, design and delivery of professional development.

Development of the Diocesan Framework for Gifted Education. Design and implementation of new Gifted Education practices across all 38 schools.

Classroom teacher duties including curriculum and assessment design and delivery, behaviour management, accommodation of diverse needs and coordination of extra curricular activities.
