I am a highly motivated speech pathology graduate with an employment background including 7 years of NDIS local area coordination. I am eager to contribute to Everyday Independence’s 2025 graduate program to support the achievement of lasting change for people with disabilities. I am ready to apply my academic knowledge and clinical skills by building meaningful releationships and delivering exceptional speech pathology services to change the game for people with disabilities.
• Independently administered CELF-3, CELF-5 and 4 articulation assessments per manual guidelines, using positive rapport-building techniques to support student engagement.
• Accurately scored and recorded results for goal establishment and intervention, resulting in notable improvements to student’s communication outcomes.
• Developed ability to plan engaging activities for students, tailored to their goals and skill levels, flexibly incorporating contingencies where needed.
• Wrote 2 comprehensive language reports and 3 speech reports which were delivered to parents and archived for progress monitoring.
• Provided comprehensive 1:1 NDIS funding support to 500+ participants with a diverse range of disabilities.
• Developed strong resources and insight about local, community and government services to support participants in working towards their NDIS goals, by increasing their community connections and access, and reducing their barriers to services (referring quite a few of them to Everyday Independence!).
• Collaborated with NDIS participants in the development of funding packages for submission to the NDIS for approval (now no longer the job of an LAC).
• Built meaningful relationships with the majority of participants, 20 who I supported over 7 years, during which time I saw game-changing outcomes, contingent on NDIS support.
