Keiran Hearne

Binalong

Summary

When I was made aware of the position as a handy person at Burrowa house I couldn't think of a more fitting job for me with my work and life experiences.

My background spans diverse roles all of which have helped me to develop and learn a wide range of skills that I continue to use today. My time in the Australian Defence Force has helped me to form habits of diligence, hard work, commitment, organisation and leadership. Whereas my time working as a support worker for Aboriginal elders has taught me lots of compassion and patience.

As a proud Wiradjuri man, I have always loved working on the land and outdoors. I take pride in my gardening and maintenance work and know an abundance of information about different plants. I spend a lot of time outdoors and am currently building my own house. In doing such I have built a great level of strength and fitness that helps to benefit me in the work place. I am very handy and have lots of experience with heavy lifting and a variety of maintenance tasks. Although I pride myself in leadership and working as part of a team, I am also very content in working independently whilst staying efficient and maintaining great communication wherever necessary.

I believe that with my experience I have a lot to offer to Burrowa house and could help make a difference. I believe that I can contribute a safe, clean, positive, well managed and efficient work environment whilst ensuring the safety of myself and others.
