· Manage team resources to ensure they are appropriately used and adequately maintained.


· Perform duties in the Project Coordinators office as the primary point of contact concerning operational requests for electronic surveillance assistance at the discretion of the Commander.

Whilst performing duties in the Project Coordinators office maintain effective communication with Team Coordinators in accordance with STIB Standard Operations Procedures and Corruption Resistance Plan and perform duties as the STIU on-Call Duty Supervisor.


. Perform covert electronic surveillance duties in all parts of NSW, and interstate as required, in relation to major criminal investigations including murders, armed robbery, drug trafficking, extortions, etc.


. Required to perform duties at short notice, travel long distances, work extended hours when required.


. Duties will include:

· Installation of listening devices into premises, vehicles, objects, etc.

· Optical Surveillance Device installations.

· Installation of tracking devices to target motor vehicles or other objects

· Radio Frequency tracking of target motor vehicles or other objects.

· Installation/monitoring of listening devices on undercover operatives and civilian informants/sources.

· Technical field support at sieges, hostage or other high risk situations.

· Counter Terrorism technical field support.

. Specific duties will include accessing areas within premises, vehicles or other structures to install surveillance devices. This may entail working in confined spaces with limited lighting for lengthy periods and working with electrical circuits if required and qualified.

. Installation of optical surveillance systems in premises and other areas, working at heights in confined space, installation of systems and peripheral equipment atop buildings and other structures.

. Radio Frequency tracking of target motor vehicles or other objects requiring operatives to remain in tracking vehicles for lengthy periods.

. Installation of surveillance devices and systems in remote bush locations often requiring operatives to trek for many kilometres through thick vegetation with equipment backpacks.

. The installation and monitoring of listening devices attached to undercover operatives or registered informants/sources for Controlled Drug Operations. Often required to perform mobile monitoring (in vehicle or monitoring van) of undercover operatives and may be required to assist in arrest of target/s if required.

. Provide technical field support at siege, hostage and other high risk incidents. These duties may entail insertion of listening devices or optical surveillance systems into hostile target premises.

. Provide general technical assistance and perform other duties as required by the Commander.
