  • My job role is to provide customer service and ensure that people are satisfied with their service, as well as hitting KPI’s and sales goals assigned to me
  • Other factors of the job include maximizing sales opportunities whilst providing extraordinary levels of customer service
  • Processing sales and receiving payments
  • Undertaking timely and accurate reporting
  • Assisting with ensuring the store meets presentation standards and quality stocktakes
  • Managing customer aggression and de-escalating situations
  • Administration support such as banking and POS as well as ensuring processes and policies are compliant

  • My role as a teaching assistant was to support the students in my class, promoting education, life skills and emotional well-being
  • My role included supporting children in a mixed aged class, all of which were non-verbal/ minimally verbal with a range of learning disabilities, social and emotional difficulties, with many showing challenging behaviors and supporting those with complex needs
  • The role allowed me to work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, including liaising with SaLT, OT, Nurses, Mental health professionals, parents/carers and many more
  • Being a teaching assistant meant that I would work on a 1:1 basis with students, and also within a team, following direction from the teacher, and working with fellow TA’s to promote learning and emotional well-being
  • At Heaton school, different communication methods were necessary, such as Makaton, PECS and other communication aids
  • I had an interest in this, and was the communication lead within my class, as I was a part of the communication team within the school, working hand in hand with SaLT.

Residential Support Worker

  • My role as a residential support worker included providing care and support for children who lived primarily at the Trust
  • This residential setting meant that my role included supporting children with personal care, promoting independence and well-being and participating in daily leisure activities and more
  • This role also included daily cleaning, cooking, meal plans and prepping, medication administration, ordering weekly groceries, planning activities and more
  • My role allowed me to work in a multidisciplinary team, including liaising with teachers, SaLT, OT, parents and many more, including monthly meetings to discuss individuals' progress at the trust
  • This role allowed me to obtain lots of experience and confidence, with lots of in-house training, and an in-depth experience working with those with multisensory impairments, challenging behaviors, and complex communication needs.

  • My role as a sales advisor meant that I worked on the shop floor, assisting customers
  • The job role was to support customers with their shopping, assisting in the changing rooms and working at the checkout counter
  • This included refunds/returns, and in-store deliveries and pick-ups
  • My role also meant that I worked in the stockroom, ensuring stock was up-to-date, and ‘click and collect’ items were stocked
  • This job gave me experience with customer service and dealing with a fast-paced work environment.
