During the last two summers I worked a temporary job in Oxford as a summer camp counsellor for international students at the most prestigious Summer School in Oxford . I spent 6 weeks with young adults aged 13-18 years whilst being a part of a dynamic and confident team. My main responsibilities were focused on providing a safe, enriching, and memorable experience for students on an elite
summer programme. My knowledge of safeguarding and student safety was exquisite. I would always prioritize the safety and well-being of students during activities, events, and daily routines. But I was also proactive and diligent in student supervision, responding promptly to any
safety concerns and maintaining respectable and professional boundaries at all times.
The Bardwell School is a special education school for people with disabilities from ages 2-19.Whilst at college studying level 3 Health and Social Care, a part of my course was to do work experience in a health and Social Care setting. I chose Bardwell to do this, I volunteered every Monday and Tuesday for 10 months. 2 years later I returned and worked as a teaching assistant in class 5, ages 9-11. Our values at Bardwell are something I really reside in myself. These values “Kindness, Aspirational, Equality, Individuality, Collaborative and Trust”. Working at a SEN school has helped me adapt myself to meet different children’s needs. For example, throughout the school day I work with students that are verbal and also non- verbal, this means that I need to
adapt the way I communicate with a student who is non verbal. For this reason I know sign language, this helps me to understand a student in a more personal way. They are able to openly communicate with me. I constantly maintained the perfect level of safeguarding whilst working with vulnerable students, ensuring that I am always doing some sort of online training to efficiently improve my knowledge even more.
confidently regardless if this is in BSL or makaton.
I accumulated high-end customer service through not only engaging with customers but involving myself on a 1 to 1 level to ensure every detail was accomplished during that specific clients visit whilst upholding the brands professional
standards and values. This was shown throughout by serving customers on the tills proactively and in a fast pace manner during peak shopping periods. I also was head of virtual sales, this allowed me to create and maintain loyal customers both internationally and in the UK by constantly attending to the, and recommending appropriate products based on their needs.
I was able to efficiently and successfully provide an expert
level of professional customer service that obtained what a customer is in need of and provided a calm atmosphere for all guests. The ability to take food and drink orders, take bookings in person and over the phone, memorize menus and make recommendations, ensuring my food knowledge is outstanding with regards to allergies and specific dietary requirements, and handle fast-paced and busy sections independently and confidently allowed me to gain strength working under pressure. I also supported teamwork atmosphere among staff members through clear communication and collaboration during shifts.
