Summary

Driven and Hard working Telecommunications engineer. I have pioneered a new method to map roads with Unmanned Vehicles that has increased accuracy, lower hardware complexity and lower hardware costs than existing methods. I'm currently working on my PHD however I am excited to dive into industry and make a difference in the real world. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to explain complex topics simply to others. I currently teach dozens of students as a Lab Tutor at the University of Wollongong and manage marketing and media for a volunteer association at university.

Work History

PhD Researcher

University of Wollongong
05.2023 - Current
  • Project: Passive radar collaborative training in ISAC systems
  • Proposed world first combination of ISAC (Integrated Sensing and Communication) with Passive Radar from wifi signal scattering and Reinforcement Learning
  • The current simulation results show a marked improvement over current methods of Road Detection in UAV and UGVs, as well as a reduction in hardware complexity and expense
  • Developed an innovative neural network model trained with machine learning and reinforcement learning (RL) to predict target positions using scattering echoes, rather than traditional reflected signals
  • Achieved 92.5% probability of maintaining a localisation error within 1 meter, while similar studies report 1-2 meters accuracy
  • This integration of ISAC, passive radar, and reinforcement learning offers significant advantages and has strong potential for adoption in the era of massive connectivity and the Internet of Everything (IoE)

Lab Tutor

University of Wollongong
02.2024 - Current
  • Independently leading 20 bachelor's and master's students in communication lab training twice a week
  • Training students on how to use fundamental electrical components such as Adders, Audio Oscillators, Baseband Channel Filters, Buffer Amplifiers, and so on, to complete experiments
  • Maintaining classroom order and grading student papers

Marketing and Media officer

Wollongong university postgraduate associate (WUPA)
01.2025 - Current
  • Collaborated with the WUPA team to design and organise events, including Movie Night, Postgraduate Afternoon Tea, and Free Printing Service
  • Organised O-Week events, including advertising, managing Facebook/Instagram pages, coordinating with university staff, and promoting within the campus community
