Southport,Australia

Summary

I am Mingyuan Ma (Ph.D.), currently a Research Fellow at Griffith University. I specialise in coastal and ocean engineering, with expertise in coastal modelling, wave hydrodynamics, fluid–structure interaction, metocean statistics, and AI-based wave forecasting. My major practical outcomes include developing a high-precision CFD model for wave transmission and wave–structure interaction in coastal sea-wall structures; establishing an innovative, validated metocean statistical framework and AI forecasting model for the southern Coral Sea; and contributing to Australia’s first offshore fish pen, SeaFisher, which secured Approval in Principle (AIP) from Bureau Veritas. To date, I have published 18 peer-reviewed articles in leading journals and conferences, and I actively maintain strong international academic and industry collaborations with partners in Australia, Norway, Singapore, Japan, and China.
