Senior Project Planner and Controller

Kayson is a leading engineering and construction company with more than 4 decades of experience in 5 Divisions (housing and building, railway transportation systems, water and wastewater, oil, gas, industry, and civil). Exemplary exporter of technical and engineering services for 11 years in more than 10 countries and ranked 99 in the top 250 international and ranked 8 in multi-Unit residential contractors.

This project is under construction with a gross floor area of 18,000 square meters and 80% progress, including structure, architecture, mechanical, and electrical, using the top-down method and P&C project delivery system.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing the necessary initial activities to start the project and the organizational chart of the project.
  • Reviewing contracts, specifications, project data and other technical documents to define the project's scope, create work breakdown structure (WBS), define deliverables, work packages, resource planning and levelling, and define milestones based on the project's goals.
  • Setting up cost breakdown structure (CBS), determining projects budget and cash flows.
  • Developing a robust and detailed database for recording all actual activities of construction (PMIS) and a high level of accuracy and data validation process.
  • Visiting the project's site on a regular basis for tracking the physical actual progress based on a pre-defined project measurement system.
  • Updating the schedule on a weekly basis for analysing the updated critical path and identifying issues before they occur.
  • Analysing the project's delays and reviewing the contractors' claims.
  • Preparing various look ahead schedules (weekly/monthly), providing critical path analysis, and trend forecasts.
  • Forecasting project finish date using both CPM and EVM.
  • Worked closely with the project manager and assisted with tracking, reporting, and communicating progress.
  • Providing training and a procedure to contractors' schedulers to prepare the schedule and update the project schedule.

  • Developing work breakdown structure (WBS), cost breakdown structure (CBS), and project measurement system (PMS).
  • Collaborated with the project team to plan, schedule and estimate project activity times, sequencing those activities from concept to completion.
  • Preparing and developing a detailed schedule and updating for analysing the progress status.
  • Tracking the progress of all activities and comparing them with their baseline values.
  • Design and prepare the project's progress report on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
