Surgical Ward

Medical Assessment unit

• Provide basic nursing care inclusive of general observations, conducting initial nursing assessments, administrating medications and documentation.
• General housekeeping of the ward including restocking, conducting stocktake, completing safety checks of bedside equipment and Emergency trolley checks.
• Liaise with the multidisciplinary team as appropriate for discharge planning or transfer to the appropriate ward.

Emergency Short Stay Unit

• Collaborate with doctors, allied health professionals, and other nursing staff to create and implement patient care plans.
• Provide continuous monitoring of the patient’s vital signs and clinical status, detecting any changes or deterioration.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, admission plans, discharge instructions and follow-up care to ensure patients are always informed of their care plans when possible.
