In this role, I ensured privacy, dignity, and respect were upheld in all aspects of care while adopting a person-centred approach to meet the unique needs of each resident. My responsibilities included managing daily activities such as personal care and meal preparation, as well as escorting residents to and from activities to support their engagement and well-being. I implemented nursing care plans, administered medication in accordance with guidelines, and recorded residents’ vitals to monitor their health.

I worked collaboratively with staff, residents, and families, maintaining clear and effective communication to ensure continuity of care. My experience included adhering to documentation procedures and organisational policies while applying my training in ACFI (Aged Care Funding Instrument) and infection control. I also provided compassionate care for residents in palliative settings, with a strong focus on promoting independence and dignity throughout all interactions.

Furthermore I was recognised for my skill with regulating and connecting with people with Dementia, I was placed full time in the Dementia ward and created a program “the twilight program” that provided each resident with specific strategies and activities to manage behaviours and promote wellbeing.
