Early Childhood Teacher (ECT)
During my professional placements, I worked alongside experienced Early Childhood Teachers to support the delivery of high-quality learning programs aligned with the EYLF.
Key responsibilities included:
- Supported the planning and implementation of play-based, inquiry-led kindy programs
- Assisted in creating engaging learning environments that encouraged curiosity, creativity and imagination
- Observed, documented and reflected on children’s learning, development and wellbeing
- Supported inclusive practices, recognising each child’s strengths, interests and cultural background
- Assisted with daily routines, supervision, transitions and health and safety practices
- Engaged positively with children, families and educators to build trusting relationships
- Reflected on feedback from mentor teachers to continuously improve professional practice
