I am currently in my final year of study, completing a Master of Teaching (Early Childhood). I was born in South Africa before immigrating to Australia in 2012. We are a family of 5 with three exceptional children. All our children were born in Australia, and the whole family have become Australian citizens.
I completed my formal degree and a postgraduate honours degree before moving to Australia at the University of Stellenbosch. Since then, my primary focus has been on raising my three children and extending my passion for academics, and following my childhood dream by pursuing a Master of Teaching.
I have successfully completed professional experiences at Jump Carey Early Development and Bertram Primary. At Jump Carey Early Development, I worked with children aged 18 months to 2 and a half years old, fostering their early development and learning. My second practicum was at Bertram Primary, where I worked in a Year 1 classroom, gaining valuable experience in junior primary education.
Growing up in a diverse country like South Africa has instilled in me a deep appreciation for cultural diversity, which I bring into the classroom to create an inclusive and enriching learning environment. I am committed to fostering a love for learning in young children and supporting their growth and development through engaging and meaningful educational experiences.

Online Professional Learning Seminar: Cultural Responsiveness and the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework
Participating in this seminar enhanced my understanding of cultural responsiveness and the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework. It has improved my practice by equipping me with strategies to create a more inclusive and respectful learning environment. This training has also enabled me to better support my colleagues in implementing culturally responsive teaching practices, positively impacting our entire educational community.
Professional Development Training: Students with hearing disabilities
During my practicum, I participated in two training sessions on supporting deaf students conducted by the Auslan Factory and SSEND (School of Special Educational Needs: Disibility). These sessions provided me with basic Auslan skills, enhancing my ability to communicate with deaf students and fostering a more inclusive classroom environment.
