· Create voyage instructions and ensure they were executed out in full and in line with the cargo contract and charter party
· Prepare and monitor vessel schedules and port activities throughout the duration of a voyage. Appoint, pay and monitor agents at all ports as well as supercargoes or specialists when required
· Required a sound understanding of bulk shipping documents.
· Arrange bunker calls, including stem supply and purchase
· Prepare laytime statements and negotiate laytime with cargo clients at the completion of the voyage
· Control and monitoring of contracts between Owners and Charterers and importantly keep all communications between the parties, running smoothly
· Handle disputes, demurrage and insurance claims with cargo clients and shipowners.
Monitor voyage performance and create voyage reports for internal performance analysis
· Issue freight, hire invoices and monitor/control funds being received
· General voyage coordination. Liaison with Master, crew and Shipowner

o Mv Vigsnes (ex Iron Sturt) 22,100 dwt on time charter to Zinifex. She had two tanks in one of the holds, carried acid for Interacid and coastal in house concentrates. In charge of her schedule preparation and distribution to ports, agents, supply chain and other relevant parties. Support to Zinifex on the operation of the vessel, dealt with claims, relationship with crewing company
o Mv Enterprise 8,000 dwt Self Unloader. Coastal dedicated vessel, principally carried grain and fertilizer within Australia. Directly dealings with charterers ABB, Zinifex, AWB, Cargill, Impact Fertilizers, IPL as well as others on a case by case basis
· Maximising voyage yields and efficiency
· Undertaking in-house agency function, booking pilots, tugs, ordering overtime with stevedores, crew changes. Deal with vessels’ repairs, claims and insurance
· Maintaining relationships with charterers, port authorities, suppliers, port captains, masters, crew, stevedores and charterers land based supply chain
· Assisting the JOSS / Transpac business units in and around Australia and New Zealand
· Execution of the business management systems, policies and procedures of Jebsens International, monthly financial and management reporting of the coastal business unit
· Negotiate Charter Party clauses between Charterers and Owners
· The preparation of market reports/analysis and recommendations for clients
· Post fixture function, including the preparation of laytime calculations for charterers, owners and receivers
