• Support universal screening within targeted schools to identify emerging behavioural and emotional problems in both a home and school setting
• Manage referrals in a timely and efficient manner
• Undertake comprehensive assessments of identified children and families
• Provide high quality evidence-based group interventions with children and their parent/carer.
• Provide referrals for children requiring interventions beyond the scope of the GOT-IT! Program and facilitate access to other agencies and resources as required
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation- assessments, group observations and end of group reports.
• Provide support and training to develop the skills of teachers and parents in managing behaviours and emotions
• High level of interpersonal skills required for working closely with families with complex needs

• Provide perinatal infant mental health specific consultation liaison to mental health services and service partners
• Intensive short term mental health care and care coordination for pregnant women and parents who are primary carers for an infant up to 2 years of age, and who have severe and complex mental health problems.
• utilise knowledge and understanding of attachment theory; trauma informed care; infant development; the impact of mental health problems on parenting and parent infant relationship and culturally sensitive practice in assessment care planning and delivery of care to consumers
• provide leadership in the assessment and management of families in the perinatal period where a parent is presenting with complex mental health problems.

• delivery of occupational therapy services to clients in both the acute and subacute inpatient setting
• completion of assessments including initial OT, home environment, functional (self care, meal prep, community access, transfers), cognitive, sensory, upper limb, perceptual etc.
• development and implementation of treatment plans, and evaluation of intervention outcomes.
• recommendations/prescription of equipment and home modifications
• liaison and working together with MDT, significant others and community support providers.

• Provision of Occupational Therapy service across a range of Mental Health Services including:

- Specialist Mental Health Service for Older People- inpatient

- Mental Health and Substance Use Service- inpatient and community

- Hunter Valley Mental Health Rehabilitation team- community

- Lake Macquarie Mental Health Service- inpatient

• Provision of functional and psychosocial assessments
• Identify and prioritise need for OT
• Development, implementation and evaluation of individual and group interventions
• Collaboration with family/carers, government agencies and community partners to enhance occupational performance within the community.
• Contributing to the effective functioning of the team by assisting with team tasks and behaving in a way that facilitates open and respectful communication
• Supervision of OT assistants, volunteers and students
• Contributing to the continuing professional development of staff through the development and administration of training
• Maintaining statistics and documentation according to the guidelines of the service
