My substantive position is Clinical Nurse at Longreach Hospital where, I am highly committed to supporting the Director of Nursing, nursing staff, doctors, and multidisciplinary healthcare team towards delivering holistic care to all patients. Currently I am backfilling, for one year, in the role of CN Palliative Care with the Primary Health Care Team which will hopefully lead to a permanent role. My communication skills are at a high level enabling me to develop a good rapport with colleagues, patients, and their loved ones. With 15 years’ experience of working in rural hospitals and their communities, I have a good, sound knowledge of the associated challenges this brings. I am a positive person with a keen interest in further education and research as a means of delivering Evidence Based care and feel this enables me to be a good role model for other staff. I have a passion for Palliative and end-of-life cares and have successfully completed the level of graduate diploma of palliative care and now working towards a Masters of Palliative Care through Flinders University.
