I am a dedicated psychology student and Student Learning Support Officer dedicated to wellbeing and inclusion. My personal journey began with the aspiration to become a bilingual psychologist, offering culturally responsive support to the Afghan-Australian community in their language of choice.
With the professional practice of working with CALD, refugee, and diverse-needs students, my knowledge has been expanded to encompass an overall dedication to all individuals from diverse backgrounds.
This experience has strengthened my resilience, self-awareness, and commitment to be of positive impact in the field of psychology , where I aim to balance and join academic knowledge with empathy, cultural competence, and professional practice.
Additional experience:
- Supported the English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) program for newly arrived refugee and CALD students, providing bilingual assistance, cultural mediation, and translation.
- Worked casually in the Support Unit with children with disabilities (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder), assisting with learning support and social-emotional development.
