This position with SALTAS involved

• Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Coordination of, and undertaking, water sampling and monitoring of waste treatment to comply with international environmental standards.
• Extensive training in the operation and maintenance of Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) with a focus on maintaining fish welfare and reducing waste output into the environment.
• Tailoring sustainability initiatives to address specific needs, implementing comprehensive waste reduction programs and energy-saving measures.

Whilst in this role I frequently had sole responsibility for the operations within the farm over night during on-call shifts. This included responding to alarms and power outages, which developed my ability to think pragmatically and work independently under pressure.

This role involved

• Tailoring my services to meet unique needs of each project, ensuring accurate budgeting and precise structural calculations.

By leveraging my skills and knowledge, I aim to contribute to the successful completion of projects while maintaining a strong focus on quality and efficiency , with a commitment to meeting deadlines.

During my time here, I held a crucial role as the manager of civil works at UPM-Kymmene Corporation, a Finnish pulp mill, managing the construction of a storage facility. Within this role

• I specialized in multiple engineering processes including civil construction , industrial projects , infrastructure development , excavation , and road construction .
• I closely monitored project schedules, planned resources and tasks, tracked progress, and coordinated with other contractors.
• I conducted weekly meetings with the client to provide updates and ensure that the project stayed on track.

Within this role I was responsible for

• Technical advisory services and project development in hydraulic, sanitary, and environmental engineering.
• Overseeing technical aspects and the planning of new Effluent Treatment Plant projects for diverse industries in Uruguay.
• Providing expert guidance , prepared detailed reports, and maintained communication with regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance and successful implementation .

It was a rewarding experience to contribute to the development of sustainable solutions that not only met the needs of the industries but also protected the environment.
