  • Company Overview: The Rainbow Lodge Program is a 10-bed, 24/7 staffed program for men recently released from NSW prisons on community correction orders that are at high risk of homelessness and recidivism
  • Rainbow Lodge is also part of the Walama List supreme court bail program accommodating eligible Indigenous men as an alternative to remaining in prison
  • The challenges faced by residents are multifaceted and complex.
  • For example, substance dependency, untreated or inadequately treated mental health, and complex trauma (physical, sexual, intergenerational, institutional).
  • The program is two-tier: a 12-week residential program, and an intensive client-driven case management and advocacy outreach program.
  • Outreach provides transitional housing and a range of community support services for men as they re-enter the community for up to two years
  • Providing intensive case management to residents with complex issues such as trauma, mental health, institutionalisation and alcohol, gambling, and drug misuse
  • Supporting residents to change their maladaptive coping strategies and develop new skills to respond to individual stressors, such as trauma, disappointment, depression/anxiety, and addiction issues.
  • Providing referrals, support letters, and supporting clients with appointments.
  • Advocating and facilitating interaction and case conferences with other service providers to build community partnerships that support clients’ successful transition from institutional care to safe, respectful, non-offending, independent living within the community setting.
