As a Dispatch/Fleet management officer you are responsible for coordinating and managing the logistics and transportation of materials, equipment, and personnel to and from mining sites. The role ensures the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of all supplies and resources to support mining operations. This position also oversees fleet management, ensuring that all vehicles and machinery are maintained, operational, and compliant with safety standards.

Dispatch Coordination:

• Plan, schedule, and oversee daily dispatch operations for vehicles, equipment, and supplies to and from the mining site.
• Communicate with site managers, drivers, and other departments to ensure that all logistics needs are met.
• Monitor delivery times, ensure adherence to schedules, and make adjustments as necessary to accommodate delays or urgent requests.
• Coordinate with suppliers and third-party contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and resources.

Fleet Management:

• Oversee the management and maintenance of the fleet, including trucks, earth-moving equipment, and support vehicles.
• Ensure all vehicles and equipment are inspected regularly, maintained in safe working order, and compliant with relevant regulations.
• Track fleet performance, fuel consumption, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance, ensuring that downtime is kept to a minimum and that the fleet is operational at all times.
• Manage vehicle registrations, insurance, and necessary documentation.

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure all dispatch operations and fleet management activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety policies and standards.
• Monitor drivers' compliance with safety procedures and driving regulations.
• Ensure that all vehicles are fitted with the necessary safety equipment and that drivers are trained in safe driving practices.
• Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Data Management & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of all dispatch and fleet management activities, including vehicle logs, maintenance records, and delivery schedules.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on fleet performance, maintenance status, and dispatch efficiency.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as vehicle downtime, fuel efficiency, and on-time delivery metrics.

As a Dump Truck Operator you are responsible for operating large dump trucks to transport materials such as ore, coal, and waste products within the mining site. The role involves ensuring that trucks are loaded, driven, and unloaded safely and efficiently, while adhering to site safety procedures and environmental regulations.

Dump Truck Operation:

• Safely operate large dump trucks and other heavy equipment within the mining site, following all operational guidelines and safety protocols.
• Transport materials (ore, waste, dirt, etc.) to designated locations within the mine site.
• Ensure that trucks are loaded and unloaded properly to avoid spillage and maintain operational efficiency.
• Perform pre-operational checks on dump trucks, ensuring that all equipment is in safe working condition before use.
• Follow designated haul roads and work areas, adhering to the site’s traffic management plan.

Safety Compliance:

• Operate dump trucks in compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Follow safe work practices and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment on-site.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, hazards, or safety concerns to the site supervisor.
• Ensure the safe loading, transportation, and unloading of materials to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Wear and maintain the required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Maintenance and Equipment Care:

• Perform routine inspections on dump trucks to ensure they are in good working order.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, and conduct basic troubleshooting or minor repairs as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized truck cabin and surrounding work areas.
• Ensure that trucks are fueled, greased, and maintained as per operational standards.

Productivity and Reporting:

• Ensure timely delivery of materials to designated locations within the mine.
• Record and report the number of loads transported, fuel usage, and other key operational data.
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation related to operating hours, maintenance activities, and delivery records.
• Work closely with the supervisor to meet daily targets and adjust work practices as required to enhance productivity.

Environmental Responsibility:

• Adhere to environmental protocols for material handling and waste disposal to minimize the environmental impact of mining operations.
• Ensure that dust, noise, and emissions are minimized during truck operations.
