Dugong Rehabilitation Tank for EWB | (Mechanical + Chemical Engineering)
Took part in the Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Challenge, assisting the Dawul Wuru Aboriginal Corporation in rescuing
injured Dugongs and transporting them to rehabilitation centres.
- Created and Used an Individual Action Plan per week following a Professional Identify Reflection across 12 weeks.
- Discerned Ethical Issues whilst working with a diverse community and stakeholders.
- Experienced the principles of team norms, collaboration and dynamics seeking the achievement of professional
practice goals.
- Designed, constructed, and pitched prototype of a Dugong Tank consisting of filtration systems, pH controllers and
pumps.
- Created a Bill of Materials and calculated volume of PMMA and other materials required.
Deployable Truss Bridge | (Mechanical + Civil Engineering)
Working in a team, followed constraints and criteria to design and construct a string-driven deployable scissor bridge.
- Used Solidworks to design and 3D print rapid prototypes of various parts and integrate them together.
- Found solutions to issues pertaining to the physics of the structure such as spring placement position reducing
deployability, lack of vertical member support meaning the design was unable to withstand a 1kg weight etc.
