From my school days I've always been a leader. It started with captaincy of any sports I played and has continued with any jobs I have been involved in. Within 6 months of leaving school I was a Supervisor of a busy Hotel. A year after that I was the Licensee and had full responsibility for the daily operations.
My whole life I've been an organiser. I would always take the lead of any group activities such as tipping comps and group getaways. I have continued to lead in sporting organizations with captaincy and other admin roles. What does all this have to do with work? It has taught me responsibility, organizational skills, accountability and commitment. A lot of these skills come second nature to me now and have been applied in my work life in the roles that I have been in.
My time in Startrack began in 2015 when I worked the PM shift at the newly opened Melrose Park depot. This gave me experience in linehaul and other outbound skills such as SPVs, security seals and DG Paperwork among other roles. Within 12 months I transferred over to the AM operation and began my Long affiliation with the MCL part of the business. Within the next 24 months I was hand picked by management to take on an important role of a clerk. This role, being in a smaller set up, covered many things from customer pickups, rostering, delivery allocating, dealing with customers and account mangers via emails and daily use of salesforce. I learnt a lot in this role over the 3 years I spent in the seat. Most notably my email and computer skills. I often took on extra responsibilities if my supervisor was away because I was familiar with the whole operation from the admin side to the floor.
Early in 2021 I transferred over from Chullora depot to where I am now at Minchinbury. I was put back into the MCL operation. Within 3 months I was trained in variety of MCL roles and found myself Team Leader. Currently I am one of a few that sits in with the leadership group on the AM operations and for over a month now have been caretaking the role that I am applying for today. At 35 years old I believe I am in a perfect time of my life to grow. I have almost 20 years experience in the workforce and still have 30 odd years left to give. Now is the right time to invest in me as I have many years to grow and give back. I believe I am the right candidate to be the next AM Senior Supervisor. I think my time in the seat shows that I am capable and I wish to continue to learn and develope.
and other major events.
