• During my time with IIS I began as an Apprentice Lagger and was responsible for assisting the senior members of the team with a range of tasks such as preparing materials and tools, measuring and other associated tasks
• I subsequently went to college and completed my apprenticeship and qualified
• As a qualified technician I was responsible for sheet metal cladding and insulating pipework on a range of busy sites
• I subsequently was promoted to Supervisor where I had responsibility for ensuring that all work was carried out to a high standard and within the specified timeframes
• As part of my role with ISS I developed the following skillset: Working on a range of sites that helped me develop my technical skill set
• Developing my time-management skills as I was regularly required to work to tight deadlines and ensure our work was completed so that other teams could commence their work
• My people and communication skills have grown significantly as I have vast amount of experience working as a team member and most recently as a team leader and have had the opportunity to work with a range of colleagues from various countries and backgrounds
• I am used to working as part of a team, as set out above, whilst also working to my own initiative
• I like to keep busy and will always find things to do or tasks that could be improved upon
• My leadership skills have significantly improved as I was responsible for 20 direct reports and had to ensure that my team's work was carried out to a particular standard, on time and efficiently as possible whilst also ensuring a healthy and enjoyable workplace
• My analytical and problem solving capabilities have advanced significantly during my 10+ years in the industry as no two jobs/sites are the same and each project requires a different approach that isn't always immediately evident or obvious

Key Responsibilities:

• Insulation & Cladding Measurements: Accurately measured and calculated insulation and cladding requirements for various industrial projects, ensuring precision and alignment with project specifications.
• Fabrication & Installation: Fabricated sheet metal components for insulation and cladding applications, including cutting, bending, and assembling metal sheets according to project needs and safety standards.
• Collaboration with Contractors: Maintained clear and effective communication with contractors to ensure timely project completion and resolve any issues related to materials, designs, or installation processes

Key Responsibilities:

• Cable Installation & Routing: Assisted in running 400/70mm cable from combiner boxes and inverter boxes to MVS pads, ensuring safe and efficient electrical connections for solar energy systems.
• Cable Length Calculation: Accurately calculated the total length of cable required for electrical installations, ensuring optimal material usage and minimal waste.
• String Cable Installation: Installed string cables from solar panels to combiner and inverter boxes, following technical specifications and safety protocols to maintain system integrity.
• Collaborative Support: Worked closely with electricians and site supervisors to ensure timely completion of electrical installations, while adhering to industry standards and safety regulations.

• Route Planning & Cable Management: Calculated and planned specific cable routes to avoid crossovers and interference, ensuring an efficient and safe cable installation process.
• Cable Preparation: Prepared cables for connection and jointing within MVS pads, following industry standards to ensure secure and reliable electrical links.
• Installation of Combiner & Inverter Boxes: Mounted and installed combiner boxes and inverter boxes, ensuring proper alignment, secure fittings, and adherence to safety and technical specifications.
• Collaboration & Safety Compliance: Worked closely with site teams to ensure smooth project execution, while maintaining compliance with all safety protocols and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drilling & Core Cutting: Assisted in Drilling and cored holes (offsetting) for the installation of piling, ensuring accurate placement and alignment of foundation elements.
• Concrete Filling: Filled holes with concrete to secure piles in place and prevent any movement, ensuring structural stability.
• Pile Installation: Assisted in the installation of piling piles into the ground, following project specifications to ensure foundation integrity.
• Bracket & Tube Setup: Set up brackets and tall tubes in preparation for panel installations, ensuring that all components were properly aligned and ready for the next stage of construction.
