Summary

The years of experience that I have gained and enjoyed from my first job starting in Hospitality, to then over my working career, working in all styles that hospitality, including restaurants (chain brands to high end, do family owned restaurants), cafe styled venues, container / food truck ventures, pop up startups and then into the events world, from large scale 1000 seats, to bespoke celebrations in home catering, to weddings and the full catering from starters to the sweets selection and the cake. I have also worked many years within the nightclub scene, bars, pubs & hotels, restaurant bars, to bars within an event. More recently I have ventured into other parts of these worlds by doing styling, delivery of the event from inception to final drinks of the event, then also to the floral design and creation of the various needs from the clients and venue etc, also to be the actual event planner and point of contact for all things on the day of the event and the days leading into and the following days of bumping out of venues etc. My passions definitely surround the training and development of the teams needed in each event etc, and I also love the analysis of the components of each work place to ensure not only efficiency based decisions, but to see how the businesses heart beats etc…lastly I am old school when it comes to the ideas of hospitality and why we do it … and don't do anything with an "ok" mindset, but with a 110% no matter what the task, job or request asked of me.

  • This role was inbound and was a new venture for Suncorp to hire externally outside their brands and hire a 3rd party Call Centre & Administrator, who would take the first contact calls for claims enquiries for new claims, screen and make sure the customers could claim, initiate the first part of the claim and log it into the system, then any actual policy orientated information specific to that customer would need to be then provided by Suncorp Insurance businesses itself, as the contract would not allow for us to be involved or have entire access to the claims in progress
  • The process and new way of customer service was not in line with the company's objective after the 6months trial and then at the 12month mark of the temporary contract, I believe Suncorp Insurance began taking back that part of their operations as it was over complicated and the levels of service dropped in the customer feedback and complaints spiked

New Connections - Gas Division

  • The role was varied and part of their administration arm to connect new customers to gas in residential
  • Then moved into connection drop outs and investigated into the failed connections by using the LandVic system and then the electricity systems for further investigation to then doing contact to the customer either via call or written communications and creating a database specifically for this task to ensure all parts were being recorded and attached to that customer ultimately keeping all the information in one location to ensure customer confidence and customer service history

Call Centre Consultant

  • Various Roles over the three jobs, including inbound customer service, administration of new member applications, allocations of contributions, processing of duplicate accounts, processing claims in hardship, balances under $200, retirement & and completions for Compassionate grounds claims
  • Started in SunSuper in Milton when it was administered by AAS and they were the leaders in bringing together the concept of the call centre & administration hub along with Trustees all in one location & the introduction of barcoding into that process including TAFE to pioneer the courses associated with the Call Centre industry
  • Then moved to Melbourne and then worked within Superpartners the competitor to AAS at the time for HESTA & then the creation of Australian Super into the market

Customer Service Team Member

  • The role was part of their new Call Centre for customer enquiries relating to balances and incoming payments such as employment, transfers in & out, ATM transactions etc
  • Then moved into their new online banking system line of enquiries relating to anything the customer wishes to query from what they could or couldn't not see or find online, and this also required verbal, written communications & recording of these interactions within a database / notes in their systems at the time
