I graduated from year ten at Nowra High School December 1994 and obtained my school certificate.
In January 1995 I stated my apprenticeship in panel beating where I attended three years of TAFE and obtain my trade certificate in panel beating. In six years of work I specialised in car restoration and minor panel damage. I also had a strong customer service ethic working with customers to meet their expectations with vehicle repairs and restorations.
In year 2002 I joined the NSW Police Force and graduated from the New South Wales Police Force Academy in December 2002 as a Probationary Constable of Police. I was stationed at Merrylands Police Station in Western Sydney as a General Duties officer.
Merrylands has a very diverse multicultural community with a range of complicated backgrounds. I learnt effective communications skills whilst respecting different cultures and working with different community agencies. These skills have proven valuable for any current situation. I performed a number of roles within General Duties including traffic coordination, public order, domestic violence, community safety, youth development services and proactive policing for crime prevention. A high level of customer service and community expectations were also provided.
In December 2005, I was seconded to the Sydney CBD for three months performing the role of proactive foot patrols for community safety and proactive response to the city’s dynamic environment. Roles also included team leader for public order during protests and dignitary protection, drug and alcohol enforcement and working with different government departments for the city’s safety and improvement. Further strengthening customer service through community engagement.
In December 2006 I transfered from Merrylands Police Station to Sutherland Police Station performing the roles of General Duty officer and also part time Exhibit officer. Roles included the management and continuity of exhibits from crime scenes and items confiscated from criminal investigations. In December 2007 I graduated to the rank of Senior Constable. Working with multiple agency’s and senior police management in sensitive police operations.
In April 2008 I transfered from Sutherland Police Station to Mascot Police Station as a Highway Patrol Officer. Roles included proactive patrols in the Eastern and Southern suburbs of Sydney for traffic related offences, free flow of traffic, traffic management and government operations for public transport and vehicle compliance. In December 2008 I graduated from the nine month NSW Police Highway Parol course.
Other roles I performed in Highway Patrol were team leader positions for major police operations for events including ‘City to Surf’ marathon, City of Sydney New Year’s Eve celebrations, Australia Day celebrations, Anzac Day and Mardi Gras. Other roles also included the team management of heart and lung transfers from Sydney Airport to St Vincent’s Hospital.
In January 2011 I was seconded to Parramatta State Crime Command for three months as a Highway Patrol Officer for State Crime Raptor. Roles included proactive patrols for out law motorcycle gangs and gang related activity and offences. Working along side plain clothes police operatives and supporting public order preventative groups.
In October 2011 I transfered from Mascot Police station to Nowra Police Station on the NSW South Coast. I performed the roles of General Duties Officer. Roles included proactive leadership for crime prevention in the Nowra CBD and surrounds, other roles included court management with apprehended violence orders and enforcement.
I specialised in domestic violence offences, working closely with the Department of Community Services in collaboration with other community stakeholders for positive and structured outcomes relating to domestic violence victims.
I performed team leader roles acting as general duties supervisor working with senior police management. I managed small teams of police officers for general duty shifts, crime scenes, critical incidents whilst supervising and supporting junior staff. Proactive policing initiatives created through community engagements and liaising. Other supporting roles were case management, court preparation, job allocation whilst conducting supportive roles for police operations and proactivty management.
In November 2012, I moved from Nowra General Duties to Nowra Highway Patrol. I continued a high level of traffic management initiatives utilising skills I had learnt from Sydney, applying them to regional country NSW. I worked with a number of inter-agency groups targeting anti social behaviour in the Nowra and Shoalhaven communities. Confiscating vehicles in traffic related crimes, drug and alcohol fuelled offences whilst working with undercover police and State Crime Command.
I worked with local government agencies for school education, presentations delivering information for children about to obtain their licences, delivering safety incentives, demonstration’s and advice.
I also took a role as a chairperson for the Southern Districts Highway Patrol Association were I identified Human Resources issues and occupational health and safety concerns. The role is a critical component for the welfare and wellbeing for police officers in the role of Highway Patrol.
As a valued Senior Constable with the NSW Police Force, I’m recognised for a high level of skill and experience from performing different roles and adaptability. I am able to enhance community safety through proactive crime prevention strategies with effective management and leadership. Proven expertise in exceptional interpersonal skills, leading to successful investigations, strengthened public trust and community engagement.
