Nathan Sequeira

I am a dedicated and motivated individual, soon to graduate with a Bachelor of Information Technology majoring in Cybersecurity. I chose to specialise in cybersecurity because of its vital role in protecting the digital infrastructure that underpins modern society—spanning critical sectors such as banking, healthcare, transportation, and communication. As cyberattacks grow in frequency and complexity, the need for skilled professionals to defend against threats like ransomware, phishing, and advanced persistent threats (APTs) has never been more urgent. I am passionate about becoming part of this frontline defence, helping organisations protect their assets and ensure operational resilience.

Throughout my degree, I have built a solid academic foundation in key cybersecurity domains, including secure coding, network defence, ethical hacking, digital forensics, and governance, risk and compliance (GRC). My learning has been reinforced by a hands-on internship experience where I contributed to penetration testing projects on API endpoints, utilising tools such as Kali Linux and techniques including SQL Injection, Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), and WRK. I also developed custom Lua scripts for testing in a development environment.

Beyond technical work, I took on a team leadership role, where I coordinated task assignments based on team members’ skill sets, monitored progress, and collaborated with marketing and video production teams to deliver a comprehensive client report. This report outlined identified vulnerabilities, risk mitigation strategies, and key insights from the engagement.

Upon completion of my internship, I will have developed strong practical skills in penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, scripting for automation, and the use of industry-standard tools and methodologies. I am deeply interested in areas focused on protecting digital assets, reducing cyber risk, and building resilient security postures.

I am now seeking a graduate or entry-level role in cybersecurity where I can apply my technical knowledge, analytical mindset, and enthusiasm for security to help organisations defend against today's dynamic and evolving cyber threats.
