• Plan and carry out diagnostics, repairs, and inspections on a fleet of approximately 85 vehicles including Bushmaster protected mobility vehicles, MAN trucks, Mack fuel tankers and Mercedes Benz G-Wagons.
• Plan parts for and conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities
• Manage work groups and oversee work order administration procedures on MILIS (Military Integrated Logistics Information System)
• Inspect all vehicles for roadworthiness and damage prior to and following exercise and road moves
• Provide technical breakdown support through Forward Repair Teams (FRT)
• Plan parts, tooling, and POLs required for FRT’s

On-The-Job Trainee (OJT)

• Practical component following 2 years of intensive residential trade training at Army Logistic Training Centre (Jun 2016 – Jul 2018), spent rotating monthly between Army workshops and civilian workshops to broaden exposure to multiple vehicles and equipment types
• Gained hands on experience working on a large range of equipment including light vehicles, small and medium rigid trucks, prime movers, trailers as well as small - medium sized excavators, skid steer loaders, concrete agitators, and dump trucks
• Spent time rebuilding hydraulic cylinders and making replacement hoses
• Developed diagnosis skills using multiple scan tool systems – G-scan, Bosch, Snap On software as well as diagnosis basics without the use of scan tools
• Built customer service skills by communicating with customers when required
• Developed a greater understanding of WHS, workplace practices and safe work procedures
