Assisting residents with mobility equipment, helping with food and fluids, maximizing a resident’s physical function through rehabilitation and maintaining domestic aged care arrangements

Expected to observe residents around any health or behavioural changes and document and report the changes.

Can provide assistance with personal hygiene for older residents, like bathing, showering, dressing, toileting and more.
Additionally, provide a lot of physical and emotional support for residents and their families.

Facilitated recreational activities for residents, fostering socialization Shopping and mental stimulation,And also able to assist with any rehabilitation or exercise programs, and plan and evaluate nursing care plans for residents

In an emergency, will be involved and can also administer general first aid help.

• Supported chefs in food preparation tasks such as chopping ingredients, peeling vegetables, and marinating meats.
• Developed strong time management skills, effectively prioritizing tasks to ensure completion within allocated timeframes.
• Assisted chefs in menu planning processes through providing input on seasonal ingredients availability or cost-effective options for dish creation.
• Followed recipes and chef instructions to prepare food correctly.
• Labeled and stored all food items correctly and checked expiration dates routinely.
• Followed proper handling and sanitation procedures to comply with food safety standards and protocols.

- Personal hygiene, grooming, manicuring and
oral hygiene. Communicates with all residents effectively
including the maintenance and the fitting of hearing aids and glasses as required.
- Assisting those residents’/clients with challenging behaviours, by participation in the development and implementation of an individually designed management plan.
- The residents’/clients mobility, by assisting with walking, use of wheelchairs and other aids and transfers.
- Supports and assists residents with food and fluids as required. Maximises the residents’/clients physical function by assisting with rehabilitative treatment such as physiotherapy exercises.
- Assists the nursing staff with treatments as. Demonstrated ability plan and complete tasks. Demonstrated knowledge and competency in manual tasks techniques.
- Demonstrate empathy and sensitivity to the
needs of the elderly from a variety of ethnic,
cultural and religious backgrounds. Demonstrate a working knowledge of Standards and Guidelines in Residential Aged Care Services.
- The ability to work co-operatively as part of
the care team. Assists the nursing staff by observing and reporting promptly any changes in the condition or well being of residents.
- Have the ability to encourage and assist residents to maximise their independence.
- A demonstrated commitment to holistic care
principles. Ensure the residents privacy, dignity and
respect are maintained at all times. Ensure that no residents experiences isolation and loneliness unless determined by choice. Perform other duties within scope of preparation and as directed.
