Roles and responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive critical care nursing for patients requiring advanced life support, including mechanical ventilation, CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy), and hemodynamic monitoring.

Main roles and responsibilities

●Be accountable for assessing, prioritising and implementing nursing care.

●Evaluate the extend of care as prioritised.

●Provide direct care to patients which includes administering medications, monitoring signs of improvement or deterioration, in condition and titrating infusions/medications as per patients needs.

●Assisting in procedure including endo tracheal intubation, cardio pulmonary resuscitation and tracheostomy insertion.

●Care of patients on multiple ionotropic supports and handling of ventilated and tracheostomy patients.

●Monitoring vital signs and ensuring the proper function of ventilators and other invasive and non-invasive respiratory supporting equipment’s.

●Monitoring patients for signs for infection, shock,haemorrhage, and overall general conditions.

●Care of speciality patients such as trauma and orthopaedic renal spinal and HPB.

●Administer all routes of medication and good understanding of ABGs and other blood values.

●Carry out safety checks as part of daily routine and identify any safety issues. Reporting any issues promptly through the correct and relevant reporting channels.
