  • Scotland – Mortgages Project (Various Projects)

MSP – TSB IPO Changes, LBG Code Alignment
05.2014 - 12.2014
  • Having built the TSB as a separate legal entity during Verde programme, it was required to sell of the assets to IPO’s as no potential buyer was interested in buying TSB
  • To achieve this, intermediary sales was introduced for the TSB
  • As a result, B2B-LBG was cloned to produce B2B-TSB which enables the intermediary mortgage sales for TSB
  • The IPO changes introduced a new Mortgage Intermediary Administration System (MIAS) for TSB
  • In LBG it was using the heritage Assembler system to administer the intermediaries
  • A need was to align the codes on both the stacks to be same
  • So the MIAS system and related services had to be built in LBG stack with a lot to tweaks to allow various LBG brands
  • My responsibility in the LBG Code Alignment team was to lead the mainframe side of works
  • Lloyds Banking Group plc is a UK based financial institution, formed through the acquisition of HBOS by Lloyds TSB in 2009
  • Lloyds Banking Group's activities are organized into four business divisions: Retail Banking (incl
  • Mortgages), Wholesale, Insurance, and Wealth & International
  • This project is one of the biggest integration projects in UK between HBOS (Halifax Bank of Scotland) and Lloyds Bank
  • In LBG the mortgage sales are done through a modernized Online System called as the Mortgage Sales Platform (MSP) System which is built on an SOA Architecture
  • Some of the screens also are built in the Common Translation Routine (CTR) architecture and some of them in the Components Engine (CE) Architecture
  • There is another system which sells the LBG Mortgages through intermediaries which shares the same database and business codes as MSP
  • This intermediary system is called B2B (Business to Business)

Mortgage Market Review, MMR
09.2013 - 05.2014
  • The UK Financial Conduct Authority has brought some regulations to review the mortgages market and all the UK banks had to follow these regulations
  • The regulations had introduced the requirement for collecting the ‘Needs & Circumstances’ of the customer to go for a mortgage
  • It has also enforced a regulation of recommending/ not recommending some products based on the needs & circumstances
  • During this project LBG came up with further requirements for converting some of the screens in CTR architecture to WTX architecture
  • MSP-LBG underwent some major changes to include these regulations and the new requirements
  • The project was so challenging because some of the requirements had no clarity and most of them were made clear during the end of build phase
  • It involved requirement analysis, preparation of designs, coding, unit testing, and support for various phases of testing and implementation
  • It also involves code deployment, configuration management, change management for implementation and Incident management post implementation
  • My role in the project included leading one of the critical work streams and the IQRB team as well
  • I have also lead the retrofit of these changes on to MSP-TSB, irrespective of work streams
  • Both MSP-LBG and MSP-TSB changes were implemented on the same night and it was so challenging
  • There were many live incidents post the implementation of MMR and the post implementation support was too critical.

Verde
11.2011 - 09.2013
  • After the acquisition of HBOS by LTSB, the group has become enormously large and so was required by the European Union to some of its assets to a smaller bank
  • EU commissioned nearly 20% of the LBG assets to be sold off to another bank
  • Due to the absence of a potential buyer, assets were divested as a separate legal entity, thus forming the Trustee Savings Bank (TSB)
  • As part of this program a “mini-me” of all the LBG systems were built to serve the business purposes for TSB
  • As a result, MSP-TSB was created by cloning from MSP-LBG and making some tweaks to work for the new bank
  • Only direct sales were allowed for TSB and thus it had no intermediary businesses
  • I have been involving in various phases of the Verde projects covering the entire SDLC processes, involving multiple releases of the project
  • My role here was as a Techno Functional staff that provided technical and functional support for my team as well as LBG
  • During this time, I have mentored many new resources
  • I have also prepared a document on the resolution of various issues occurring in the complex work stream of MSP called the Print Engine which has helped several project teams within mortgages
  • The Verde project had various releases which made it complex on preparing the ‘Sequence of Events’ (SOE) for each of the project
  • I have involved in the preparation of SOE and Work Load Schedule (WLS).

LBG Mortgages
10.2009 - 11.2011
  • During 2009 HBOS was acquired by Lloyds TSB and the group became Lloyds Banking Group
  • As a part of the acquisition various Sales and Servicing Systems in both the banks had to be integrated together
  • I have played a key role in the Mortgages Integration projects which evolved as part of the Lloyds TSB and HBOS merging
  • The integration projects were delivered in phases called as Integration drops (Drop 0 to 3) and I was involved in all of the drops
  • The integration projects have delivered a much advanced MSP system called MSP-LBG
  • The new intermediary system also evolved during this time and it is called as B2B-LBG
  • My role in in the Drop 0 and Drop 1 was as a senior developer where I was involved in preparing and reviewing designs, building and review codes and unit test results for various work streams
  • I have also worked on as an Independent Quality Review Board (IQRB) member for those work streams that I was not part of
  • In further integration drops/releases, I have played a project lead role
  • I have lead teams for some of the work streams
  • I have also lead the IQRB team which is an independent review board for entire mortgages projects.

HBOS
10.2007 - 10.2009
  • Prior to the acquisition of HBOS by Lloyds TSB, I have been working in the HBOS Mortgages portfolio projects
  • During this period, I have worked in various enhancement and regulatory projects and I have been involved in various phases of the projects from Design until Post Implementation support
  • As a new member to the team and platform I have quickly learned the architecture of the Mortgages Sales Platform (MSP) system as well gained very good knowledge in the UK Mortgage business
  • During this time, I have been given higher responsibilities of coordinating projects from onshore.
