Dairy

• Preparing and setting up the machine for milking sessions.
• Monitoring worker. Ensuring there is no over or under milking by maintaining dairy hygiene cleaning after every session.
• Maintain bacterial and somatic cell count by ensuring damaged teat liner rubber ware are replaced, milk meters get monitored and washed 3 times in month, ensure machine services are done on set period.
• During milking check cows on the following: udder, hoofs any sores and the conditions, ensure every cow is identified and fed on the table.

Animal Husbandry

• Identifying and treating sick cows, controlling and keeping low mastitis issues and lameness, setting dip and dipping the herd .
• Running herd vaccinations on scheduled periods. Planning and preparing for vet visits.
• Drying off cows, selecting steam-up cows.
• Managing fresh cow problem and down cows.
• Heat spotting, preparing and assisting with artificial insemination.

Calf Rearing

• Ensuring that steam-up cows and calf facility is cleaned and disinfected by enforcing biosecurity.
• Test colostrum quality, ensure proper handling and colostrum storage.
• Dehorning, tagging and vaccinating calves at the scheduled period, weighing and weaning calves.

Recording keeping

• Recording on vaccinated cows, treatments, vet visit results, calvings, feed usage and milk production daily, completing report month end.

Dairy

• Setting and preparing machine and teat dips for milking, milking, washing the machine after milking sessions.
• Maintaining dairy hygiene, checking any damages on teat liners rubber ware, milk meters, bulk tanks replacing were needed, reporting issues needing technician and services on the milking platform, cool towers and bulk tanks are made on set period.
• Ensuring good control of bacteria and somatic cell count, by monitoring workers to prevent under and over milking and keep the dairy clean.
• Stock take ordering dairy spares, vaccines and other used medicines.

Animal Husbandry

• Identifying and treating sick cows, ensuring good control less mastitis cases and lameness. Examining cows condition, udder, hoofs and sore foot.
• Vaccinating the herd on scheduled periods, plan vet visits, drying off cows preparing for calving seasons.
• Setting up and dipping the herd for ticks and dieses control.
• stockmanship and controlling vaccines handling and storage.

Mating

• Heat spotting, sorting cows for synchronization ( cidr run)
• Preparing and assisting with artificial insemination

Calf Rearing

• Selecting steam-up cows and ensuring they received all vaccines on dry off procedure.
• Ensuring calves get colostrum, measuring colostrum quality before stored, moving calves form steam-up camp to calf pen, feeding calves.
• Dehorning, tagging and vaccinating calves at the scheduled period, weighing and weaning calves
• Cleaning and disinfecting feeders, calf facility equipment and changing bedding.

Record keeping

• Recording on vaccinated cows, treatments, vet visit results, calvings, feed usage and milk production daily, completing report month end.

Dairy

• Milking, Washing machine and cleaning the dairy maintaining hygiene in the shed.
• Checking teat liners all rubber ware and milk meter replace damaged rubber, reporting any issues for maintenance and technician services, monitoring bulk tanks.
• Monitoring worker to ensure prevention of under and over milking to control levels of bacteria and somatic cell counts and keeping clean good quality milk.
• Ensuring every cow is identified, fed and handled good on the platform during milking sessions. Monitoring feed system on Afi, Silos, calibrating when needed and reporting issues needing a technician on time.
