  • I was head of the household section of the business comprising of 245 drivers/operatives and 11 staff in the logistics and operations office.
  • Oversaw a fleet of 95 mixed use vehicles - REL , Rigid , Trailer , Van etc working with a team of mechanics to ensure minimal downtime and adherence to regulatory checks.
  • Liaised closely with Health & Safety department to ensure best practice and ongoing training for staff on site and on road. Also worked closely with sales and customer care teams to improve service and allow expansion into new markets.
  • Direct involvement in ongoing recruitment including introducing a refer a friend programme. Opening new recruitment channels in mainland Europe to source experienced drivers and operators through to onboarding and training.
  • Successfully negotiated a long term pay deal with staff representative groups alongside Chief Financial Officer.
  • Responsible for a multi million euro payroll and fuel budget.
  • Developed excellent 3rd party relationships with contractors and site owners to maximise material and tonnage flow.
