Summary

I am a hard working and dedicated student who is polite, courteous, takes personal pride in a job well done, works well individually and also as part of a team. I have a good sense of humour and believe that I have many transferable skills from both school and my personal life that I can bring to the workplace.

Work History

Assistant Trainer

First Taekwondo

I currently assist my Taekwondo Senior Instructor every Wednesday and Saturday with the Junior Class (Age Group 5-12 years). Duties that I undertake are :

  • Run the warm-up section of each class which consists of creating different exercises for each session.
  • Sign the Training Attendance Cards for each lesson.
  • Help the students with their patterns and show ways of how to improve their techniques.
  • Assist and help new students to learn their first pattern and also with their kicks, blocks and stances.

Community Cook Up

Iona Presentation College

After school, I have been part of the Community Cook Up program which is an Iona Care opportunity to provide something back into the community. This fantastic program makes food for the St Pats Homeless Charity. This involved :

  • Working closely with a partner to follow the recipes we have been provided with each week to prepare the food.
  • Ensuring good hygiene practices are in place.
  • Working within the time limit allocated.
  • Using our initiatives to create our own recipes, which also included ensuring that we had organised and purchased the correct ingredients that we required.

Coogee Live and Christmas Party

First Taekwondo
  • On several occasions, I have been part of the Coogee Live event with my Taekwondo Dojang. At this event, we provided a demonstration (1 hour) to the community which consisted of numerous patterns, blocks, kicks, stances and board breaks. It was such a great opportunity to be part of this.
  • I assist each year with my Dojang's Christmas Party, which involves creating the invitation flyer, ensuring we have the necessary catering supplies (plates, cups, napkins, cutlery, tablecloths, tongs etc), creating a dish to bring to the party, and setting up and packing up the event.
