Macroscopic Cut-Up

  • 300 cases/4 months
  • Independent with complex surgical specimens.
  • Completed Whipple, eye enucleation & maxillectomy, total pinnectomy, larynx.

Reporting

  • Started reporting independently 2 months into training.
  • Average 2 big cases/4 small cases per reporting day.
  • Always attempt to report cases that I have cut-up for better correlation.

Teachings

  • Twice weekly teaching sessions in TWH and SIML.
  • Weekly statewide online teaching sessions with Prof. Lee and Prof. Rutland.
  • Teaches pathology residents on cut-up.

Meetings

  • Prepare and attend weekly MDTs with pathologists.
  • Weekly meeting with SIML (Private) to discuss interesting cases.
  • Twice weekly meetings with POWH to discuss complex cases.

Cytology: Participates in cytology procedures monthly, understands its basic principles.

Frozen sections: Participates during reporting days/free time.

QAPs: Participates in every QAP sessions, distribute cases among registrars to present to pathologists during discussions.
