Working as Medical Laboratory Technician in Cervical screening laboratory is a crucial role and important in early detection stages. My daily work and experience in the lab includes:

• Conducting testing for HPV and STI assays on instruments like Roche cobas 6800, Roche cobas 4800, Seegene STARlet, Abbott Alinity M, BD COR, Cepheid GeneXpert, Bio-Rad and Roche Cobas 5800. (trained professionally)
• Analyzing and interpreting routine results and contribute to daily reporting according to SOP and check Quality controls regularly.
• Perform troubleshooting and perform required maintenances on instruments. Observe and record fridge/freezer temperature and stocks. Also perform thermometer checks regularly as per standard guidelines.
• Implement safe lab practices by following the protocols, assisted in daily operations and gained knowledge of handling and storage of biohazardous material.
• Participate in testing of internal and external quality assurance samples like NRL and RCPA QAP.
• May also work in Specimen reception Covid department and Courier department.
• Provide training to placement students and guidance to other member of the team.
• Work on major research projects include reviewing research papers, testing and reporting research samples results. leaded one of the recent research project - MaRVE.

• Worked with Research team working on study of reaction and action of immune system at the time of HIV and COVID infection in human body.
• Assisted in preparation of samples like brain tissues cutting, fixation of fresh tissues, wax filtration, embedding, sectioning, staining with Immunohistostaining procedures and labeling and storing appropriately.
• Assisted in preparing reagents and Buffers and stocked materials for routine testing.
• Performed cell counting and maintained cell growth by incubating cell culture of Human umbilical cord at proper temperature and environment.
• Performed Immunohistostaining according to the Laboratory policies and gained knowledge of diagnosis or interpretation of results of slides using PALM Microscopy.
• Also worked on CPD logs and researched about the Laboratory management, patient advocacy, analytical processes, specimen handling, safety rules and critical thinking required in laboratory.
