  • Responsible for project delivery for India. Main roles include commercial management and operations management for the India Branch, coordination of resourcing requirements, ensure correct billing with the Client, contractual correspondence, budget preparation and monitoring, prepare and monitor Profit and Loss statement for the projects and the Project Delivery division.
  • P&L responsibility for the PMC project being executed for the DFCCIL section between Sahnewal and Pilkhani for the Ministry of Railways and the General Consultancy for Bangalore Metro Rail Project (2RS-C Contract).
  • Major Project handled as Resident Project Manager – PMC for Sahnewal Pilkhani Single Electrified Heavy Haul line.
  • Responsible for the setup of the project team and mobilization at the commencement of services with the Client (Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited – DFCCIL). My main duties included setting up of project management systems in accordance with DB regulations, management reporting, commercial management, coordination with the Client for all requisite approvals, invoices, contract management for the PMC, team monitoring and management.
  • Coordinated with all stakeholders to ensure smooth progress and problem solving with a team of over 100 staff from the PMC.
  • Project Brief: This is a World Bank funded project and the section DB is the sole PMC for is 175 route Km between Sahnewal (Punjab) and Pilkhani (UP). This is a single electrified line (2x25 KVA Over Head Electrified) with a heavy axle load (32.5 T) carrying capacity.
  • Directed operational strategies to enhance efficiency across multiple departments.
  • Implemented performance metrics to monitor productivity and drive continuous improvement.

  • I worked with the German offices to setup an offshore design centre in Bangalore to carry out, at the initial stages, structural design for a large bridge rehabilitation programme in Germany.
  • Key role in the setup of an OLE (Overhead Line Electrification) design team for German rail projects.
  • Apart from the day to day coordination with Germany for operations, I assist the Head – Project Delivery for the project management, contract management and commercial planning for the IQSC in Kochi Metro Rail project.
  • This includes developing and maintaining the project management plan, commercial control reports for the project, technical control for the projects.
  • Responsible for bid management along with coordination of various parts of the bid with different DB offices in Germany, resource identification and management and am also responsible for setting up and maintaining the business systems for India.
  • Preparation of delivery programme, approach and methodology, resource management for large projects that DB was bidding for in Oman, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Singapore and Thailand.
  • Responsible for compliance review for all local vendors and partners. Coordinate with HQ for vendor compliance approval and management.

  • Business development manager for the first year. In this time I was able to create a database of the capability of the company locally as well as across the world.
  • I successfully brought together the different geographies of Parsons Brinckerhoff and other large consultant companies to bid for some high profile projects such as the High Speed Rail projects in India, DFCC, Delhi Metro, Bangalore Metro and a some major station redevelopment projects.
  • Instrumental in forging a relationship between the Australia and South East Asia offices of the company to leverage the company strength and credentials for mega projects in India.
  • Part of the leadershipteam, I was responsible for key decisions on financial planning and budgeting, resource management and commercial mechanisms and viability.
  • This role also required me to identify business risks at an early stage and prepare mitigation plans.
