Projects

Monash University Science Project                                                                                                     July 2024 - October 2024

Worked in a team over 12 weeks to develop a deep learning pipeline for multi-label classification of chest radiographs, focusing on detecting the presence and malpositioning of catheters and tubes. Responsibilities included medical image preprocessing, advanced feature extraction, model training using convolutional neural networks (CNNs), and evaluation through ablation studies to assess feature contributions and improve model performance.

  • Built and fine-tuned convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to classify and detect malpositioned lines and tubes in chest X-ray images
  • Performed data wrangling, feature engineering (grayscale, texture, spatial features), and exploratory analysis to optimise model inputs
  • Collaborated effectively in a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to data processing and reporting, and adapting quickly to technical challenges
