  • Unix Tools Development / Maintenance (Shell script, Python, Oracle): The project requires the support for the tools written in Python/Shell scripts and their maintenance. These tools are used by the development teams for the CM related activities.
  • Tools developed by me: Tracker enquiry tool (Python): Based on the client request a tool was written which fetches the CVS details and produces a ‘csv’ file for the detailed analysis.
  • Tagging tool (Python): Based on the client request a tool was written to tag certain PDA (parallel development areas) in the CVS repository side. And to retrieve the tagged scripts.
  • Tool for ENV and SUDO insertion (Python): A tool was created for the insertion of data in to two Python dictionary files.
  • Unix Tools Environment build / support: The team has been building environment structure for different banking development team in different Unix flavors. This includes setting up ‘Sudo’, CVS repository and the shadow area (central development area).And testing the area for CM activities and the correct working of the tools.
  • Customization of 3rd party software ‘Bugzilla’ (Java script, MySQL): Some modifications were done in ‘bugzilla’ request tracking system for the insertion of new SLA rules. As a part of this changes were made in bugzilla MySQL database which included some stored procedures and triggers, and the frontend in JavaScript.
  • Process automation (shell script, Python): Product environment creation (Shell Script): The product environment creation which included CVS setup, Central area (development area) setup and the tools DB (Oracle) insertion was automated through shell script. The task which took 5 days initially was brought down to 15 minutes. The manual errors could be nullified. This self-initiated project gained good recognition among the team and higher managers.

  • Automation script development (shell scripting): An automation script was written for pre-batch validations of the backend tables and other parameters. The script reduced the task from 30 minutes to 5 minutes.
  • An automation script was written, which does the morning checks automatically and generates the report. Previously this was done by manually logging in to 12 different SunOS systems and checking certain parameters and forming a report based on that. The automation script nullified the human errors and time taken is brought down considerably. These automations were self-initiated and gained recognition among the team and higher managers.
