Roles And Responsibilities
- Assisting project manager in preparing project management plan from project initiation to project closing phase.
- Preparing and finalizing cost and budget estimates, project schedule, resource management, procurement, quality policy, risk assessment.

- Verifying Heat Load, static pressure for fans & AHU, Verifying pump head calculation, Smoke Ventilation requirements.
- Preparing and submitting monthly progress payments for the work done at site to client and then to follow up for their approval.
- Managing complete site activities like installation of equipment, piping, ducting by delegating the work and task to site team, subordinates and coordinating with senior engineers, client/consultant, contractor & Subcontractor for progress of work and inspection at site
- Managing and coordinating HVAC electrical work Viz Installation of MCC, control panels, Switch Fuse, VAV Transformers & Transformer boxes, Power socket, Cable tray, Thermostat conduiting, conduiting for power supply to equipment, power cabling, earthing of equipment, DDC Looping, temperature & pressure sensors and complete HVAC BMS & control systems.
- Directing the foreman and junior site engineers for carrying out specific installation work.
- Meeting regularly with consultants, client and subcontractor of other trades for any coordination issues.
- Follow up with Kuwait Fire brigade Department and Ministry of Electricity & Water in order to get authority approvals for drawings and material.
- Supervising the installation work of MEP Subcontractor by inspecting site work installation and taking necessary action on work installation checklist.
- Reviewing material submittal for the equipment and materials submitted by MEP contractor against specification and design equipment schedule.
- Reviewing RFI (Request for information) raised by contractor in order to resolve particular issue and to reply it accordingly.
- Reviewing Shop drawing, composite drawing, As built drawing against design drawing.
- Reviewing work progress of subcontractor and accordingly approving their progress payments.
- Calculation of Heat Load using Carrier HAP (Hourly Analysis Programme) software.
- Finalizing equipment capacities of HVAC equipment based on load calculation like Chiller Capacities in, Pumping capacities of Chilled water system, Condenser water system, Cooling tower, Air Handling units etc.
- Doing design coordination with Architect, structural and civil services.
- Guiding and assisting juniors in design works thus building the design team for future jobs.
- Finalizing equipment schedule, riser schematics, and design-drawing layout.

- Smoke Ventilation calculation as per NFPA requirements in order to finalize the capacities of smoke fans, smoke fresh air fans, elevator and stair case pressurization fans.
- Finalizing design drawings for ducting and piping. Doing pipe and duct sizing using SMACNA duct calculator and Mc quay pipe sizing calculator.
- Finalizing project specification for materials and equipment.
- Doing design coordination with Architect, structural, electrical and civil services.
- Finalizing sequence of operation for the complete HVAC system, which includes, chiller sequencing, chilled water and condenser water pumps operation and modulation of all Airside water equipment based on load demand.
- Finalizing and preparing BMS points in coordination with BMS team based on the finalized sequence of operation.
- Reviewing electrical, BMS drawings and submittals especially MCC’s and control panels for any comments in coordination with electrical & BMS team.
- Following ASHRAE and SMACNA standards while designing the HVAC system.
- Design of Fire Fighting & Plumbing system using NFPA and International plumbing codes
- Handling Commissioning activities of HVAC system like finalizing TAB subcontractor, submitting method of statement for TAB, preparing start up and commissioning procedures of Chillers, Pumps, Cooling towers, Air Handling Units, Fans etc.
- Coordinating and arranging site visits by all the equipment suppliers in order to prepare for startup and commissioning of equipment.
- Coordinating and supervising the TAB team for Water Side and Air Side Balancing, operation of BMS and Control system as per approved sequence of operation.
- Commissioning of Plumbing and Fire Fighting System.
- Complete Study & preparation for the tender documentation queries to consultants to confirm/collect any missing data, shipping costs, insurance etc.
- Familiar with generating Bill of Quantity against drawings to ensure /identify material types, quantities & prepare equipment lists for cost estimation.
- Floating inquiries to various suppliers.
- Familiar with the negotiation of prices, based upon careful study of specification, BOQ & Addendum.
- Monitors carefully various changes in drawings, BOQ, Addendum etc. Negotiation with client and consultant to finalize the bid.
