  • Company Overview: Turquoise Hill Resources Ltd (“TRQ”) was a TSX Listed entity, which was fully acquired by Rio Tinto in December 2022 and is now 100% owned by Rio Tinto
  • Following its acquisition and delisting, the TRQ group of entities underwent significant restructuring and simplification
  • Responsible for integrating newly acquired TRQ entities into Rio Tinto’s operating model
  • Leading the finance/ controllership workstream for successful restructuring of group of entities (22 in total) to deliver synergies, including working multiple stakeholders across tax, legal, and corporate reporting teams
  • Preparation of annual and long term plan
  • Leading liquidation and amalgamation activities of entities no longer required alongside tax and legal teams
  • Manage the relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Tax, Legal and Treasury and FAS teams, Oyu Tolgoi finance team, external auditors, and 3rd party providers of finance and accounting services for the TRQ entities
  • Work with Group services team to integrate remaining 9 entities into the Rio Tinto operating model, including SAP implementations, documentation of existing processes, and transitioning workload from external bookkeepers to relevant Group Services teams
  • Undertake ongoing Finance controllership activities for all entities in the group, including managing the month end, half year and year end closing activities as required by Corporate reporting team

  • Lead and review the planning process, monthly forecasting, cost reporting and variance analysis

  • Systems advisory for CFO to ensure ERP was fit for purpose;
