I, Parmpreet Singh, am a passionate and dedicated graduate Registered Nurse with a strong foundation in holistic, person-centred care. Coming from a medical family background, my interest in the healthcare field has been lifelong. Over the past three years of nursing studies, I have gained valuable clinical experience through diverse placements that have shaped my professional identity and practical nursing skills.

• I completed placements in palliative and aged care settings, where I developed confidence in administering subcutaneous and oral medications and built empathetic communication skills with residents and their families during sensitive end-of-life care. My time at Nepean Hospital’s aged care and rehabilitation units enhanced my ability to assess, plan, and implement safe, evidence-based care for elderly patients with complex needs. At St John of God’s drug and alcohol ward, I learned to manage patients experiencing mental health challenges, using trauma-informed approaches and therapeutic communication.
• In Westmead Hospital’s vascular surgery ward, I gained hands-on experience with wound care management, VAC dressings, insulin administration, IV fluids, cannula care, and removal—all under supervision while adhering to professional boundaries and nursing standards. This placement strengthened my ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and to remain calm and focused in high-pressure environments.
• During my training, I successfully handled an emergency situation involving a deteriorating patient by initiating an urgent MET call, promptly reporting observations, and assisting the response team. This experience enhanced my clinical reasoning, teamwork, and confidence under pressure. I am committed to lifelong learning and delivering safe, compassionate, and culturally sensitive care.
