Summary

My sole objective at this point is to gain a position within your company’s structure. I live close by to your Bowen Hills depot, and have a extensive knowledge of Brisbane area as i grew up in Spring Hill. I have a mature attitude to the task at hand, a high safety record and adherence to instructions. I have the ability to mentor trainees and supervise, as in previous jobs and a great personality. I know that given a chance this would be my career path for the future. I have numerous competencies in communications and other trades which I have learned in my previous positions and current roles. My attention to detail and willingness to learn new things has always been a big part in my work scope. My work ethics are excellent, as is my ability to work with co-workers and customers and the public and my technical hand and tools skills are more than proficient.

I am looking for a new challenge to further my career and expand my knowledge base. I’ve had the pleasure to work with some of the biggest names in oil and gas in a previous career which spanned 8years some of them are, Santos, Beach, AGL, Origin, QGC, Comet Ridge and Blue Energy, Senex, Petrochad- Griffiths, most wells where in Australia and overseas (Africa) which the work above has taken place. I have practical experience in the field excellent mechanical skills and enjoy this type of work our usual hrs were 12hr a days in remote areas weeks on end in all states of Australia in high temps.

As of last 7 years i have been working on the NBN project starting as a HFC specialist then moving onto the fiber network as the role out expanded and new architecture was introduced.

My role in this included hauling network cables and EU cables at premises, planning of devices, stocktake, reading plans, exchange patching, testing, faultfinding, remediation works, after hours call-outs, government building installs, interstate travel for jobs.

I believe i would be an asset to any company due to these facts: I have studied mechanical engineering (advanced diploma) 1996-1998 Have knowledgeable mechanical aptitude.

I have experience in Fibre optics splicing, HFC, coax, fault finding, testing, alignments, integration of NBN network customer side and active and passive exchange side, network builds, cable hauling, labelling installing of equipment and integrating underground work and aerial. Small amount of electrical experience T/a Excellent technical hand skills and power tools use. Supervisory/mentoring roles in oil and gas and communications field.

Im able to meet deadlines thinking on the spot resolve issues as they arise, quick learning ability and ability to take on challenges in my work.

I have a broad range Field experience/ Land Rig site experience Remote areas experience. I have worked in so many diverse fields and have been fortunate to see an abundance of problems arising multiple aspects of my work and being able to rectify most of the problems whilst on field with minimal loss to downtime.

NBN Senior Network Fibre Splicer & HFC Specialist

  • Organisation of tools before site and on return stripping and replace items needing servicing.
  • Exploration coring of shale and coal mostly from Qld land based Rigs ranging from singles to triple sized rigs, 12hr days rotating shifts months on end untill coring program is finished and clients are happy with results.
  • Coring program had very high recovery targets and the high costs into the millions, this high stress environment i thrived on to meet our targets for analysis purposes so ability to think on your feet and technical knowledge to gain best recovery was a must.
  • Organising Logistics for pipe and Ccans to arrive to site and be removed after well was completed.
  • Worked with company personnel to gain best practices for coring program and best core recovery.
  • Ability to think outside the square for unusual issues that arise from coring.
