Patricia Gacis

Starting as a Credit Analyst for the first 10 years and continuing as a Senior Credit Analyst, main responsibilities include:

• Fundamental credit research with integrated ESG analysis to form an internal credit ratings and generate profitable relative value alpha signals on investment grade corporate bonds and hybrids.
• Specialisation in non-financial sectors, with current coverage Australian and New Zealand REITs, airports, global consumer, retail, universities and Australian telcos. Previous sectors covered include oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, auto, and heavy industrials.
• As ESG champion for the last five years I represented the Fixed Income Team on FSI's ESG Impacts Committee, and participated in FSI's Modern Slavery and Net Zero Working Groups. Externally I represented in the AFMA Sustainability Committee, and S&P and Moody's ESG Investor Groups.
• Spearheaded efforts on external ESG collaborations most recently NA100 and the FAIRR committee for the Australian supermarket sector.
• Recommended credit research process improvements to enhance our approach in integrating ESG risks into analysis.
• Assist in Responsible Investment (RI) related reporting including FSI's RI Annual Report, Annual Modern Slavery statement, UK Stewardship, the UN PRI survey, ad-hoc client requests and RFPs.

• Enhanced portfolio performance by identifying and analyzing attractive and potentially underperforming credits.
• Assisted in the management of client portfolios by monitoring investment holdings and rebalancing when necessary.
• Assist in implementing strategic and tactical positions in portfolios (duration, curve, credit).
• Collaborated with Senior Portfolio Managers to maintain a diversified portfolio, reducing overall risk exposure while adhering to client and regulatory constraints.
• Conducted thorough research on market trends, economic indicators, and industry data to inform investment decisions on Fixed income portfolios.
• Prepare high quality quarterly and ad-hoc reports for clients.

• Provide fixed income and foreign currency research and strategy to a broad range of external (investor, hedge funds, corporates, business banking) and internal (traders and sales teams, institutional banking) clients.
• Contribute to the production of profitable trade ideas.
• Maintain close relationships with internal clients to resolve research requests and data queries.
• Ongoing input to the development of interest rate and currency forecasts.
• Achievements: Team ranked No 3. Australian Macro and Economic Strategy (INSTO 2007 survey) and Best macro-economic research (Asia Money FX Poll).

• Contribute to market leading credit research and analysis for internal and external clients.
• Responsible for producing research on hybrid securities for private wealth clients.
