Freelance Assistant Animator for a Glenfiddich Campaign, using moho for the motion-graphics and ToonBoom harmony for the 2D.

This project was for a popular VideoGame with over 2.5million copies sold, by Team17 Digital.

My roles were:

• Clean and refine draft lines of multiple scenes, providing guidance and direction to colleagues to ensure accurate placement.
• Created and implemented missing animation in-betweens.
• Painted scenes, adhered to strict deadline.
• Collaborated with the animation director to discuss project progress, ensure alignment with creative vision.

Software used: ToonBoom Harmony.

This project is called "À Boleia da Ciência" (What's all about), it's a kids show for the Portuguese national TV channel RTP, it's about a family and an artificial intelligence helper, that travel in a van and go on different adventures. My roles were:

Line Producer and Production Manager:

• Spearheaded the development of a comprehensive production map, encompassing pre-production, production, and post-production phases to ensure seamless project execution.
• Effectively allocated tasks among a multidisciplinary team comprising concept artists, animators, musicians, scriptwriters, and storyboarders to ensure efficient collaboration and timeline adherence.
• Reading scripts and rewrite them based on the animatics. Make sure the storyboards followed the script of each episode.
• Supervised and mentored colleagues on animation production, ensuring adherence to established animation guidelines and best practices, as well as presenting high-quality work.
• Facilitated regular team meetings, both weekly and monthly, to maintain open communication, track progress, and ensure project milestones were met within established deadlines.

Animator:

• Animated key scenes for a multi-episode project, showcasing expertise in storytelling and visual storytelling.
• Designed and created concept art for select episodes using Adobe Photoshop.
• Generated high-resolution PNG exports for the composition and editing team, ensuring seamless integration into the final product.

Software used: Moho for animation and Adobe Photoshop for concept art .

This project was the 2023 campaign for Portugal Fashion week VT ss23. The theme of this years was AI. My roles were:

• Assisted clients in refining their vision through constructive feedback during initial consultation meetings.
• Worked extra hours to guarantee the quality and deadlines.
• Converted and edited videos using Adobe After-Effects and Procreate to add the glitches and lettering effects and elements.

Software used: After-effects and Procreate

This was the Episode 5 for a company called "Biond Portugal", a company that provides investigations and information about nature, natural resources and recycling advices. To help and teach the young generation we designed computer games and small animated episodes teaching how to recycle.

My roles were:

• Bring a cheerful personality/acting to the character and make sure it followed the animations principles.

Software used: Moho

This project was a short film called "Radio Pilotis", a 2D traditional animation by XBO film studio.

The short is about a lonely man, who lives in a after world, with his cat. He enjoys to walk around the empty streets with his battery radio, listening to music.

My roles were:

• Supervised and mentored colleagues on animation production, ensuring adherence to established animation guidelines and best practices, as well as presenting high-quality work.
• Facilitated regular team meetings, both weekly and monthly, to maintain open communication, track progress, and ensure project milestones were met within established deadlines.
• Manage to work over hours to guarantee the timelines.

Animator/Painting Artist:

• Animated missing keys and in-betweens.
• Painted each frame and prepared the characters for the compositing team.

Software used: TVpaint for animation and painting, After-effects for compositing

The project is called "Puffin Rock and the New Friends", it's a feature film by Cartoon Saloon. After the successful Netflix series "Puffin Rock" with two seasons. My roles were:

Line Producer:

• Collaborated with directors, producers and staff to develop comprehensive shooting schedules that met production goals.
• Took on additional shifts during peak work periods to keep projects on schedule.
• Coordinated the production process for an animation project, developing and managing a comprehensive project map to ensure timely and efficient completion.
• Provided guidance and oversight to animators, distributing materials and scenes, and conducting quality control checks to ensure adherence to project standards.

Animator:

• Enhanced visual storytelling by animating dynamic 2D characters, environments, and effects.

Software used: Moho

A children music videoclip called "Zupi Mission" about the joyful aspect of leaning, it was a campaing of the new school books for Porto Editora, the biggest Book Publisher in Portugal.

Software used: ToonBoom

A short film called "The time keeping house", by Sardinha em Lata. It's about a house where library, museum and workshops combine, one day, all books get sick. The restorer, followed by the house watchers, try to save the books.

The techniques are a mix between 2D animation and Stop-motion, all made of paper.

My roles were:

Stop-Motion Puppet Building

• Created intricate puppets for stop-motion animation productions, ensuring attention to detail and high-quality craftsmanship.

Maquette Design:

• Designed and developed maquettes (small-scale models) for scenarios, providing a visual representation of the story's layout and characters' interactions.

2D Animation Support

• Provided assistance in the 2D animation of the characters, and preparing files for printing and ensuring accurate rendering of designs.

Internship Coordination

• Coordinated and managed the logistics of internships, facilitating the integration of interns into the production team and ensuring a seamless workflow.
