Summary

I am a recent counselling graduate who is eager to utilise my education and learn everything I can from a new professional environment. I have a broad understanding of common therapeutic approaches like CBT, Narrative and Motivational Interviewing, with a keen interest in Shema and Interpersonal Relationship therapy. My belief is that healing begins in deepening the relations around a person, meaning I focus on teaching them to connect and communicate effectively, resulting in a meaningful and nurturing support network. I am passionate about improve the lives and wellbeing of my clients. My goal is to help build a stronger more supportive community for everyone, and I believe that starts with looking out for those who may be the most vulnerable and isolated.

  • I conducted my university professional placement at SMCADS with over 250 office hours and 50 client hours, in addition to client, triage, and risk assessments, along with psychological evaluations
  • Offered counselling to clients struggling with substance use issues, along providing official letters for of attendance and progress for their legal issues, and consulting with their other health professionals
  • Performed treated made to reduce substance use, however emphasised addressing environmental factors and negative cycles of behaviour to improve overall psychiatric wellbeing and address the perpetuating causes of substance use
  • Worked with diverse client’s range, practicing skills of motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, solution focused and interpersonal relationship therapy
  • Developed treatment plans which balanced problem solving with acceptance-based strategies all while cultivating a trusting therapeutic alliance.
