  • Crisis Intervention - Responding to people (primarily women) subjected to violence and assisting them via giving and obtaining information, through listening, questioning and being supportive
  • Room 4 Change - is a program for men who use violence against their partners, children or other family members
  • In this program, workers assist men who are wanting to engage in making behaviour change in their life
  • This is done via case management, group work and for those who were eligible, an accommodation component
  • I was primarily a group facilitator with the Men’s Behaviour Change group and Caring Dads group, and I carried a case load of clients under case management
  • Within this role, I was required to case note and contribute to the reporting system of the organisation.

Family and Domestic Violence Resource Worker

  • In this role, I was a key member of the Family Protection Unit of the Western Australian Police and Department of Child Protection specific to inter-agency coordination and case tracking of family and domestic violence (FDV) cases
  • The three services triaged the current Police FDV call outs on a daily basis and determined the next level of engagement for the families
  • Within the Counselling stream, I provided support, advocacy and psychotherapeutic services to women and young women (17+) who had been subjected to FDV and sexual assault
  • Clients would be referred to assist them in dealing with FDV concerns, however often the clients presented with complex trauma, drug and alcohol abuse and mental health concerns as well as dealing with family separation
  • Maintain records and provided reports as per policy guidelines to adhere to the agreement with funding bodies

Mums and Dads Forever Program (Casual Position)

  • This program assisted separated parents to obtain a child focused lens and learn skills to assist them in being able to co-parent

  • In this role, I was required to liaise with parents, community organisations and the Courts
