Here is where i came across a new skillset, after leaving my previous employer to start a new challenge. My current work involves identifying and rectifying defects in completed projects/apartments. My role is to identify poor workmanship, or work off defects that have been picked by either the builder or client and to rectify it. This is not limited but most of the defects involve : - patching walls / ceilings, sanding and painting

- caulking all wet areas and throughout

- repairing joinery

- touching up of tiles/floorboards etc

- repairing aluminium windows and frames and spraying

- repairing faulty door locks

Here i am in constant contact with the builder or client, and fix things to a suitable standard to hand over to new owners. An eye for detail is needed, greater scope of skillset, time management, and communication skills. Highly rewarding work seeing the end result

i have worked in a vast array of different areas through my time in the industry..

• on site installation of custom high end joinery, from commercial sites to domestic.

My role here included overlooking job projects and ensuring that all deadlines were met. I also made and installed joinery on high end hotel fit outs, with many projects completed at crown casino during this period.

During this period i made the decision to take on a personal and financial challenge and bought a house in a less than ordinary condition. Over the following year i proceeded to completely change and renovate the house. As an entirely new floor plan was designed i had to use my carpentry,cabinet making, tiling and painting skills to complete this renovation.Most of the work was hands on, however in areas where other specialized tradespeople were required ( plumbers, electricians) i was responsible for organizing, scheduling and sourcing materials. Budgeting and bookwork skills were also required at this time.

Here is where i worked for a large scale company, working in teams to achieve tight deadlines, completing and installing joinery for the chain of body shops all over Melbourne and Australia. Lots of hours and long days involved but never let our clients down with handovers. My work was a mixture of both factory based, and on site installation in shopping centres all over Melbourne.

• Measured and cut materials to specified dimensions to achieve precise fit.

Started my working journey here from school, and completed 4 years of my apprenticeship here learning all aspects of cabinet making, while completing my trade certificate at the same time at Holmesglen TAFE in Chadstone.
