Summary

In summary, I have been a classroom teacher, administrator, trainer and counsellor for over 30 years.I have worked for large and small organisations, in both private and public sectors. My experience as a teacher has covered 5 Australian States and Internationally (UK) and is spread across Primary, Secondary & Tertiary sectors. I have worked for Government Education Departments in NSW, Tasmania, Queensland and NT. I have been a school principal in three States over a 20-year period. My more recent experience has included jobs in remote and Indigenous education for some 6 years with 4 of these years in NT and 2 years in Queensland. My NT employment experiences have included remote schools as teacher, VET trainer and as a Teaching & Learning Coach. I have graduate & post graduate qualifications and maintain a strong on-going interest in all aspects of education, counselling, training, pedagogy, support and curriculum design & implementation.I am very familiar with the scope and proficiencies of ACARA and VET & Employment pathways. In my role as a Teaching & Learning coach, I spent much of my time working with teachers and Principals in coaching and advising them on classroom issues relating to literacy and numeracy learning. During this time I trained in the Read,Write Inc. Phonics program and the NZ maths approach to early numeracy. During my school leadership experiences I have worked to enhance my own professional growth in leadership, organisational and staff management skills. I learned first-hand, the value of counselling, mentoring, capacity building and continuous professional development of my staff. I have developed sound communications skills as a writer, speaker and presenter and I have proficient IT skills in Microsoft Suite, Zoom, Teams, and several Learning Management Systems including Canvas and Oasis.
